Never Forget

 Never Forget

"I...I..love you."

The first time I uttered those words to you...

you smiled at me...and then punched me

You then said, "It took you long enough."

We both laughed for an hour after that, 

telling jokes and making fun of the entire situation

 We were young, we were scared

But with each other, we were free

That memory will always be with me

 And you....I could never forget you....

Broken

Broken

You came back to me, crawling on your knees
You begged and you pleaded and I still said no
It took everything in my broken being to reject
the one I care most about
But I had to....
It was too much...
Too much had happened....
I tried to forgive, I tried to forget
But the stinging bite of betrayal
burned through any hope of us
getting back together
I wished you the best
and then I left, a trail
of regret and pride behind,
never see to see you again.

First Kiss

 First Kiss

Our first kiss, the one kiss I still remember
in the movie theater...with the lights dimmed.
We were watching, "Titanic" and the scene with
the car sex came onto the screen
She grabbed my hand a bit tighter
and pulled it closer to her lap
She then turned her face to me
I could feel her hot breath on my cheek
I turned my head to see two galaxies
brimming with color staring back at me
I reached in my head close to hers
she hesitated...
but then with force, wrapped her lips
around mine
I kissed back, taking my hand out of hers,
and placed it on her face, gently caressing it
while my lips moved like oceans
when it was over, we stared into each others eyes for
what seemed like a split second...
and then the credits to the movie started to roll

Perfectly Imperfect

 Perfectly Imperfect

She is perfectly imperfect
She makes mistakes in the cutest ways
When she spills a drink...she will start
smiling, and say, " Food for the bacteria" before cleaning it up
When she smiles, you can see the gap between
her two front teeth, which happen to be in the shape
of a heart
The way she always stumbles in heels
you can tell she has had little to no practice
wearing them
She is perfectly imperfect
and I hope she never changes

Fiery Winds

 Fiery Winds

I find more and more of my thoughts
consumed by the fire in your eyes
I dare not look directly into them
for fear of being burnt alive
Yet I can't fully look away
or my heart may become cold
I admit, I am intimidated by you
But this is also the reason I am
so enraptured by you
You are a hurricane
a force to be reckoned with,
sweeping up everything in your path
while everyone stands helpless with wonder

I see

 I see

My dreams are of halycon skies,

crystalline waterfalls; golden trees;

rainbows with colors you can only imagine;

and yet when I awaken next to you...I see all of these things,

staring into your beautiful eyes
