Thinking

Thinking about you is like

thinking about the stars

Both shine brighter than the sun

and both inspire me to write these poems

I long for your embrace like the trees yearn

for the falling rain and the moist earth

We will dance one day to the sounds of the birds

and like birds, our souls will fly through the universe

jumping from galaxy to galaxy declaring our love

for each other. I laugh when I think about the times

I've spent with you. Laughs of both joy and sorry.

Joy for the time spent with you, and sorrow for the times

you've been away from me. I wish only happiness for you

in your journeys away from me, and I hope strongly that

one day you will return and have amazing stories to tell me

as we sit in the comfort of our own home
